• Welcome on board mateys!

A child's delight and awe at the first glimpse of the bride. A couple caught in a private moment amongst the whirl of activity surrounding them. A strong visual juxtaposition of eastern tradition and modern wedding practices.

In the midst of the bustle and chaos of the wedding day, these serendipitous moments and little details are often overlooked. Many a time, these shots are the very ones which tell the most interesting stories, the snaps that surprise and delight the couple when they look back on the day together.

Every couple's love is unique and beautiful, every wedding an occasion worth treasuring. It is Christopher's aim to help every couple tell the story of their special day, bring out their personalities and preferences, and capture the reactions and candour of all those who share in the couple's joy.

With a background in psychology and the arts, Christopher has a keen eye for the aesthetic and a knack for capturing the best (and worst!) of human emotion and expressions. To him, shooting a wedding means first getting to know the couple, their loved ones, family traditions, cultures and idiosyncrasies -- a rich tapestry that translates into beautiful pictures with depth and feeling.

He looks forward to being a part of your special day, and helping you capture the memories of a lifetime.

Scott Adeline

Shangri-La Hotel

Definitely one of the more colorful and theme-oriented weddings I had covered this year and eons since I last shot for a relative. Cousin Adeline and I are Peranakan-Chinese while Scott, ahem, is Scottish-American. In a nutshell, this was NOT going to be your typical wedding. =D

This time round, I was given a list of tasks to perform and time to perfection:

…three hours photojournalistic coverage of bride and bridesmaids getting ready, artistic shots during ceremony, live projection of some of the pics taken earlier, live projection cum instant printing of guests pics taken during cocktails, live projection cum instant printing of guests pics during dinner as well as live projection of speeches, toasting and dessert buffet spread…

In essence, my role, although merely behind-the-scenes, would determine an outcome tantamount to either a huge blockbuster hit or a terrible B-grade movie. Hence, lots of preparation and troubleshooting work were done beforehand. The stress was overwhelming two weeks prior to the wedding but of course, no one noticed anything strange about me then. Owing to my diligence and efficiency, I encountered many but resolved most of the issues in time.

At the end of the evening, the guests were thrilled, the older folks were delighted but most importantly, the newly-weds loved what they saw. That made my day.

Scott & Adeline,

Wishing you the best in your lives together and may they be filled with lots of  good cheer and happiness!

P.S: Special thanks to Spellbound Weddings for providing assistance along the way and oh, did I almost forget to mention that Award-winning blogger of Snippets of Life – Karen Cheng, was one of the guests that evening? Coincidentally, she is Adeline’s cousin as well so, does that make us remotely related too? =P

Share love, give love, spread love

Alex + Michelle

St. Teresa’s Church + St. Regis Hotel

Many of us would have seen the movie My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997) that starred Julia Roberts as Julianne, Dermot Mulroney (Michael) and Cameron Diaz (Kimberly). Ever attended and witnessed a friend’s wedding that was as dramatic as theirs? Yes, perhaps, no. Please email me your stories if you have got any and the best story wins a mystery prize! =O

Seasons of Love was the wedding track chosen by the newly weds. It is an awfully touching song from the broadway musical Rent. If you are familiar with this one, did you already attempt measuring your life in a year or do you agree that love, is the only proper measure of a year in a human life? For those who do, bravo, and may you continue to share and spread the love around to those who are blind or oblivious to the world they live in so that they may surrender their hearts and minds to the wonders of true love!

Alex & Michelle -> You both make a wonderful couple. May the good Lord bless you with countless blessings and happiness in your lives together!

your best friend always, NJ’94/95
